Position Description and Responsibilities: This is a Lean Sigma position within one of our exclusive client’s Northeastern Ohio polymer / chemical manufacturing plants, reporting directly to the plant manager (Dotted line reporting to the Director of Operational Excellence). This position will require an experienced process engineer preferably with chemical / polymer process manufacturing industry experience. This position requires a process engineer that is able to facilitate and drive results in a fast paced and “ever changing” environment leveraging his/her strong interpersonal skills. Key to success in this position is the ability to work within the organization at all levels creating value and buy-in across various corporate functions.
This role will be responsible for completing Black Belt continuous improvement projects as assigned to increase productivity, maximize profitability and improve customer satisfaction.
This role will provide project, Lean Sigma methodology, and tool support to a full team of plant Green Belts who drive projects within the plant.
This role will facilitate meetings with plant management to review and examine project progress.
This role will provide Lean and Six Sigma training to plant personnel
This role will be responsible for seeking out project opportunities for Six Sigma and Lean breakthrough strategy within the plant.
This role will be responsible for promoting the use of Lean Six Sigma methodology across the entire plant.
This position will deliver significant and quantifiable process improvement and financial benefit across assigned plant projects.
This position will focus on business performance that constantly strives to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share via the use of Lean Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
Manage Lean Six Sigma reporting activities for assigned plant projects.
Develop partnerships with other plant Lean Six Sigma Leaders across the company to share best practices.
Position Critical to Quality + Success (CTQ+S): Technical Behavioral Requirements:
BS Degree, Business Management or Technical (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
5+ years professional work experience
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt experience. DMAIC project experience in a manufacturing setting or equivalent project management skills and tools
Formal Lean training in Value Stream Management tools, kaizen methods and other key Lean tools and methodologies would be a plus
Experience with facilitating Lean training events of Kaizen events
Lean Six Sigma project experience / background
