Position Description and Responsibilities:
This is a key Lean centric continuous improvement position within one of our client’s flagship division in the energy sector.. This position will require an experienced Lean leader, preferably with heavy industry or process industry manufacturing background and experience. This position requires an individual that is able to facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and “ever changing” environment leveraging his/her strong interpersonal skills. Key to success in this position is the ability to work within the organization at all levels utilizing a very “hands on” approach to creating value and buy-in as the lead change facilitator for the division’s Lean transformation.

  • This position will be responsible for managing and facilitating the region’s Lean initiatives and strategy, leveraging problem solving PDCA/ A3 Lean thinking
  • This position will help coordinate and  provide leadership / mentoring / training to all levels of the operation on the use and practice of Lean methodology and tools
  • This position will support the executive operations team in the development, planning and execution of a Lean strategy and metrics providing support to process owners in order to clearly link project metrics to strategic operational objectives using Business Process Management principles.
  • This position will have responsibility for planning and assisting in the execution of various Lean transformation events and projects targeted towards improving the site’s performance on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • This position will focus on business performance improvements that yield zero accidents, defect free products, on demand and on time delivery, at the lowest cost by partnering with the site’s process owners and champions to drive results.
  • This position will focus on business performance that constantly strives to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share via the use of Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • This position will act as a key driver of change within the region, supporting management/cross functional decisions by communicating the region-wide changes to employees and helping them to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the business’s Lean transformation.
  • This position will plan and administer kaizen activities across the region and drive events in administrative offices as needed to support value stream improvement plans.

Position Critical to Quality + Success (CTQ+S): Technical Behavioral Requirements:
  • BS Technical Engineering Degree /  Master’s Degree a plus
  • 5-7 years of process improvement experience in heavy manufacturing or process industry environment, with at least 3-5 years’ experience leading and executing process improvement projects in a dedicated Lean position.
  • Large site or multi-site Lean leadership experience in various industries a must
  • Formal Lean training in Value Stream Management tools, kaizen. SMED and other key Lean tools and methodologies a must.
  • Prior experience coaching and mentoring senior leadership team and ability to coach and mentor across the organization is a must
  • Prior Value Stream operations/process leadership experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50 to 60% within the southeast region

Position Critical to Quality + Success (CTQ+S): Technical Behavioral Requirements:
  • BS Business / Engineering or Healthcare related degree (preferred), MBA a plus
  • Lean Six Sigma Master Belt certification or equivalent a must
  • Significant Lean deployment leadership experience in a transactional/healthcare setting
  • Prior enterprise wide Lean Six Sigma coaching, mentoring and training delivery leadership experience in a healthcare setting
  • Prior experience with Lean Six Sigma Transactional implantation and facilitation in roles of increasing leadership responsibility in a healthcare provider setting.
  • Advanced Training in Lean, PDCA, Kaizen, VSM and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Prior healthcare consulting deployment leadership experience leading teams of consultants (Black Belts and Master Black Belts)
  • Track record of successful cross functional/ project management & deployment leadership experience in a healthcare provider setting
