Position Description and Responsibilities:

This is a key leadership position in our client’s service delivery business in connection with its equipment sales and support, working on-site within its customer’s clinical and laboratory value stream.

· The main focus of this role will be to analyze new and existing customer laboratory organizations and work practices in order to recommend near and longer term value stream and workflow improvements. The role will require familiarity with Lean Sigma methodologies in a clinical and laboratory setting, and the ability to credibly recommend changes to lab practices to reduce waste, reduce cost, improve quality, and turnaround times.

· This position requires management of consulting projects and oversight for 2 (or more) Lean Sigma consultants, mentoring of customer personnel, and training team members as required.

· This position will also provide support to the sales organization for our client’s products; support implementation of Lean Sigma Value Stream solutions at customer sites.

· This position will help create and improve standard work practices for national delivery of Lean Sigma advisory services.

Company Profile:

Our client is a fast growing, market leading, global capital equipment manufacturer with revenue quickly approaching $200MM.

Position Description and Responsibilities:

This is a key leadership position within our client’s supply chain organization, reporting directly to the Director of Global Supply Chain. This position will require an experienced Sales and Operations Planning leader, preferably with capital equipment or custom system integration background and experience. The role is the key owner and enabler of the demand and supply planning process across our client’s entire $200MM business.

  • In this role the Manager of Sales and Operational Planning will be the subject matter expert in planning strategies, quantitative and qualitative forecasting and demand planning techniques, as well as demand variation reduction.
  • This role will be responsible for translating, coordinating and reporting operational initiatives for Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Aftermarket, and Operations as a business planning tool.
  • This role will create the foundation for a six quarter rolling business plan for executive review. Plan, execute, measure and improve a monthly Sales and Operations planning cycle, and its subsidiary regional and local schedules corporate-wide
  • This role will develop and lead cross functional team to achieve
    • Collect sales and marketing data through collaborative forms, accept data based on a historical input bias.
    • Develop a demand plan: using statistical analysis and management input build a multi-period demand plan (12-18 months)
    • Compare the multi period output to of the statistically generated forecast with key channel partner forecast to analyze and understand exceptions.
    • Develop plans and analyze lift for demand shaping based on promotions planning, price management, contract compliance and timing of new product introduction. Package these key scenarios based level plan for operational planning.
    • Using the forecasting output, analyze the best alternatives for the business based on profitability, revenue, customer service levels and inventory levels. Clearly identify constraints, demand shortfalls, and capacity opportunities for the consensus meeting review.

Position Critical to Quality + Success (CTQ+S): Technical Behavioral Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive sales or operations experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of planning and scheduling experience in manufacturing environment with products that have multiple bills of material and multiple process of production.
  • CPIM, CRP or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • A background that spans IT / Materials Management / Operations would be considered an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical planning, marketing and operations functions.
  • Cross-functional business team experience
  • Advanced skills in ERP/MRP and MS Office products. JD Edwards background a plus.
